Where politics is going.
What it means for you.
How to shape the outcome.
Red Rose helps organisations understand political change, interpret its consequences and influence what happens next, across Westminster, Whitehall and the new centres of regional power.
Political judgement.
Applied where it counts.
We give clients the political judgement they need to act decisively: distinguishing signal from noise, understanding what drives policy, and advising on what to actually do.
Red Rose is a strategic political advisory firm. We help organisations understand where politics is going, what it means for them, and how to act before outcomes are settled.
Power has shifted. Scotland and Wales govern through their own parliaments. Across England, a growing network of Metro Mayors wields real executive power. Most advisory firms are not built for this. Red Rose is.
Pete Bowyer and Paul Nicholson bring over fifty years of combined political experience. All work is led by partners, supported by senior specialists across every policy domain.
Anticipate
We track emerging political shifts, translate them into clear implications for strategy, reputation and commercial interests, and tell clients what they mean before they have to react.
Engage
We put clients in the room with the decision-makers that matter: ministers, officials, mayors and parliamentarians, building the relationships and making the arguments that move outcomes.
Shape
We design and direct the campaigns, coalitions and interventions that change policy, defining objectives, building the argument, identifying the decision-makers and holding every stage to a clear standard of results.
Westminster to
the regions.
Our network of senior associates spans every major political and economic centre in the UK. From Edinburgh and Belfast to Bristol, our team gives clients on-the-ground intelligence and relationships wherever decisions are being made.
Scotland's Parliament and Wales's Senedd have distinct legislative powers and political cultures. Across England, Metro Mayors, including Greater Manchester, West Yorkshire, the West Midlands, Liverpool City Region and the North East, are reshaping how public investment and services work, with more combined authorities emerging. Red Rose understands how these institutions interact with Westminster and how to engage effectively across all of them.
A comprehensive suite
of advisory services
We present our services as an integrated advisory offer, not a menu of disconnected products. Every engagement begins with the client's objective and the political judgement required to achieve it.
Strategic Political Advisory
Senior advice to leaders facing political risk, policy change or significant strategic decisions. Political risk assessment, scenario planning, corporate positioning and confidential counsel, across both national and regional political environments.
Political Intelligence
Interpretation of political developments, government priorities and stakeholder behaviour. Our intelligence goes beyond reporting what has happened, it explains why it matters, what is likely to happen next, and what the client should do, including analysis of the devolution agenda and its sectoral consequences.
Policy Positioning
Helping organisations develop credible positions on public policy questions. We connect organisational objectives with government priorities at both national and regional level, strengthen the evidence base and build arguments that can command wider political support.
Government Engagement
Purposeful engagement with ministers, officials, parliamentarians, mayors, regional leaders and regulators. We understand the machinery of government: how decisions are made, who holds real influence, and where the critical pressure points lie. Engagement is always part of a wider strategy; meetings are not outcomes in themselves. We know when to engage, with whom, and when not to.
Campaign Strategy
Designing and directing campaigns to influence legislation, regulation or government decisions. We define the objective, identify the decision-maker, build the coalition and develop the argument, shaping the political environment so that the right outcome becomes the path of least resistance. We set the timetable and establish clear measures of success at every stage.
Regional Influence
Our defining capability. Scotland's Parliament, Wales's Senedd and England's Metro Mayors, including Greater Manchester, West Yorkshire, the West Midlands, Liverpool City Region and beyond, each require a dedicated strategy, not a Westminster adaptation. We map the decisions that matter, build the right relationships across the full geography of UK political power, and direct the engagement that delivers results.
Where politics and
commerce intersect
We work with organisations for which politics and public policy materially affect commercial or operational success, particularly those with exposure to the devolution agenda.
