Murray Stewart
Senior Adviser - Parliamentary AffairsA parliamentary specialist with direct connectivity into the All-Party Parliamentary Groups that shape UK financial services, fintech and digital assets policy, including the key Treasury Select Committee relationships that matter most for regulatory outcomes.
Background
Murray began his career in Tony Blair's Opposition Office and contributed to Labour's Rapid Rebuttal Unit during the 1997 General Election. He went on to serve as a researcher to a number of Members of Parliament and peers, building a parliamentary network that now spans more than 20 years of active public affairs practice advising organisations from global corporations to trade bodies.
He manages the secretariats for several All-Party Parliamentary Groups, including Open Banking and Payments, Taxation and Boxing, and also has close working relationships with the Crypto and Digital Assets APPG and key members of the Treasury Select Committee. Outside Westminster, Murray is a licensed FIFA football agent.
This combination of formal parliamentary roles and longstanding relationships across Westminster gives Murray a level of access and influence in the financial services and sport policy space that is rare among external advisers.
Parliamentary expertise
Murray's advisory work focuses on parliamentary engagement strategy, helping clients understand how the legislative process works in practice and where the most effective interventions can be made. He advises on Select Committee evidence submissions, APPG engagement, and the management of relationships with backbench MPs and peers who hold influence over financial services regulation.
His expertise spans financial services, sport governance and transport policy, giving clients a breadth of parliamentary network that extends well beyond the financial sector.
